  • What's that thing on my firewall?

You know what I'm talking about. It sits above that lip right in the middle. Big heatsink with a cage around it and 2 rather beefy wires coming out of the passenger's side, into a rubber boot an back around into the main harness on the driver's side. I've scoured the forums as well as my haynes manual and found no mention of it whatsoever. My car runs fine without it, so it seems to be the automotive equivalent of an appendix. And if it's the flux capacitor it seems to be malfunctioning because nothing happens when I hit 88MPH. (had it set to March '91, the last time Nirvana played here, running on plutonium 'cause my Mr. Fusion is only putting out .97 jiggawatts)

    What's it supposed to do?
