Since the first time well over 10yrs ago, I've always hated removing the piece that surrounds the instrument cluster - just when it seems the plastic will surely break at the top, it pops loose. Yeah, I know those tabs aren't really necessary, but still, getting one out for the first time and as long as it still has the tabs has been a pain. But for some reason when I pulled the surround on my new '90L over the weekend, I pulled the bottom toward me first. Then the top released with almost no effort! Maybe nobody else has ever run into this but thought I'd post in case many do.
