If its a stick shift then she should be able to just unplug it. It won't idle right, but if she can keep it revved up then should be able to at least get to where she needs to be. Its possible in an auto too, but but harder to keep the revs up. When the throttle is open anywhere to between barely pushing the pedal and all the way to the floor there is no connection inside the sensor, and with it unplugged it duplicates this, basically tricking the car into thinking you always have your foot on the gas at least a little.
    No festiva for me ATM...

Shorestiva is in Salisbury. Kraig and NovaSS aren't too far from there.

John, I take it she got it running after doing something with some aluminum foil.

I woulda used wax paper, with stick margarine and a dusting of flour!

                OK, Update!

LittleBlueCar is up and running again!

Apparently, the removal of some of the plastic resonator chamber and associated tubing on the air intake was replacement with aluminum foil.
The foil failed under engine vacuum, and which subsequently gave indications of TPS failure.
Replaced foil and Little Blue Car is functioning again.
Resuwrecked maybe meeting her later to confirm repair!

Bottle cap I believe is the proper fix for removal of the resonator. I'm wondering where the foil went though. If it failed and remained in place (ripped) then thats not too bad... but if was pulled through it may still be stuck somewhere in the intake tract. I doubt it would have done much damage if it made it into one of the cylinders, but if its still in the intake it may cause more driveability problems down the road until it makes it all the way through. Hopefully it didn't go in though.

And yes John, you're more than welcome to pass my number along to those in need. I'm usually available to help!

From her description it just tore.

When I spoke with her she seemed have replaced the foil and all was well.
Bottle cap may work better than my suggestion of the use of aluminum tape.
Also a silicone rubber stopper like those used in chem labs may well work too.

Thanks for your OK, I just don't like to give out other peoples numbers without authorization.

We did two of those resonator deletes at FMIII using coke bottle caps. I think from Pepsi products, as they are taller. Same diameter as Coke products but the coke ones are only half as tall.

Clearly you use the superior product for the job (Pepsi product).
