  • Rocker Interchangeability

My unregistered '92 sits for long periods. It has developed a sticking HLA that won't go away from driving it around my neighborhood. I was wondering if the earlier adjustable arms or whole shaft can be put on the later head. I don't mind adjusting the valves every couple years.

HLA are probably just low on oil and deposits are keeping the oil from getting in to pump them up.
An oil change to thinner weight oil might help and/or Seafoam® before the oil change may help remove these deposits.

^^^ how did you get that little trade mark insignia?

I agree, add a little Seafoam (insert trademark sign here) and drive it for a couple hundred miles, then change the oil.

alt 0153 makes the tm symbol. Type in "charmap" at the command line (windows key run)

That way you can bet on soccer games £10 my team is going to run over yours etc

          LOL
I have to use a bunch of special symbols nearly everyday.

The character map contains them, all but I remember those I use a lot:

          ALT+0174 = Registered Trade Mark = ®

          ALT+0176 = degree symbol = °

Also would haven been more appropriate had the ® been in superscript, but can't determine if this editor has that ability.

I think they are interchangeable because my engine was rebuilt and has the older 88-89 adjustable with springs vs the later with HLA's and hard spacers. I'm not 100% but at the same time, Nate told me I could swap to HLA's whenever I want so sounds like a win to me.

if you type ® in sup in WORD or something and then copy it maybe it will take. I've done that with strikethrough since I don't recall it having strikethrough and it worked. Never posted it but I would think if it puts it in the text box then it'll post too...

What's the technical diff between springs and hard spacers?

the earlier ones literally move side to side and have springs that try to keep them seated, they work. But also you know they're adjustable? The later (is it 90+?) have non adjustable HLA's and they are in place with like 1/2" or longer hard spacers.

I'll probably some time switch my car back to them. Looking up it looks like I already answered that. good job reading george
