  • Heater control issue

Howdy - Over the weekend, I pulled the heater control out just enough to replace the fan switch illumination bulb. After screwing back in place, I noticed that I was getting a fraction of the defrost air and almost no heat to the windshield (switched on high). So... I pulled the heater control out again. (I'd say maybe an inch or 2 from face). The fan and heat kick in like nobody's business.
Push back into place, again slows down. Cables need lubricating?

Does the blower motor physically slow down when you push the unit in place? Maybe a wire is being pinched or something causing loss of power to the blower. Your heater core will still put out heat even if the motor isnt turning the fan.
