I own a 93 ford festiva and it recently broke down. I'm pretty sure it's a problem with the fuel pump. I was driving and all of a sudden the engine stopped taking fuel. The car didn't shut off, it just sputtered and the gas pedal didn't work, so I pulled over and shut it off. Then it wouldn't start, so I had AAA tow it to the closest mechanic. Luckily its a local guy and I don't think he's going to rip me off, but he's not in until Monday so I was wondering if anybody had any idea how much all this would cost. I dint know and I definitely don't want to get ripped off. I researched how much a new fuel pump would cost and what I found was between $100 and $130, so what do you think about the labor? I would appreciate your help!

93 Festiva Fuel Pump Problem

The labor should not be that much , There is a access panel inside the car ,right over the pump/sending unit .
I changed mine in a parking lot with combination screwdriver and a pair of pliers in less than 30 min.
So a certified mech should not be too bad.------------------------------------------------
