I'm finally getting back to the SBOX. does anyone know if there is supposed to be any sleeves or dowel pins between the cylinder head and the block when reinstalling the head?

Yes, there are 2 sleeves that go around two of the head bolts. They are about 1/2" long and press half way into the block around two of the head bolts. The other half goes up into the head. If you can't find them, look in the bolt holes on the head. Sometimes they get pushed clear up into the head.Brian
