  • Suspension questions for BP Festy

    Hi everybody,

My Festy with a BP feels really squirrelly in the front, especially when it shifts to second and third gear. Is it because of the extra weight of the BP and the 12 inch wheels? I guess the passenger side LCA could be replaced because the drivers side is new. Would new outer tie rods help it feel more solid? The tie rods don't really have any play when you do the tire side to side test while its on jack stands, it feels pretty solid. The Festy just doesn't feel as solid as our Aspire. Any suggestions?

if your engine isnt mounted in with the axles perfectly straight you could get alot of pull under any acceleration that would make for some crazy times.

I would check all your joints, perhaps some fresh tie-rod ends and a realignment. Helped mine out a ton this year

Start with the LCA and associated bushings and also the sway bar to frame bushings... those two items can give a lot of slop in the suspension.
      No festiva for me ATM...

Thanks, I think the bushings could use replacement. I also think its toed in because of the outer tire wear pattern so hopefully some toe out will help alot.

I found with the stock suspension the car would drop in the rear and the front would lift enough that the camber would look like it's going to a positive number. I have a video I made with my gopro and you could see it real good. Get stiffer suspension and new bushings and the car will be way better and won't try to kill you.

that'd be an interesting video to see postman

I'm from swansboro Feisty, if I had a swap for you and made a trip home it'd be win win If I find another rear beam I'll almost have everything for another swap

I like my aspire swap a lot! but you have to decide which way to go with that

and IdealSociety is on the money with how straight everything is mounted and where it's directing it's power. I haven't followed anything you've done so idk
