  • Battery Drain

Constant power drain. Can anyone tell me where the voltage regulator is in a 1993 Festiva. May have reversed terminals at some point and cooked the thing. Bought the part, but now I can't find it in the vehicle. Help

You sure it's not your alternator.

If you have a mutlimeter hook it up to the battery and turn the car on. Should read low 13 then high 14 at 2000 rpm if it doesnt fluctuate when the car is started your alt is cactus.

    Hope i could help.

      Power Drain

Thanks Nicholas. Problem now is it won't turn over with a fresh battery. Think I may have a solution. Starter only tic, tic, ticking if rapped with a hammer. Another run to AutoZone, Stay tuned

The voltage regulator is inside the alternator..... the best way to check if it's the alternator thats draining your battery is to disconnect the alt. and leave the car for a day with a charged battery in it

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?
