    WHEN I WAS JUMPING OFF MY 1993 FESTIVA I HOOKED THE CABLES UP BACKWARDS AND IT BUNNED OUT THE MAIN FUSELINK TO THE STARTER . HOW WHEN I BEPLACE THE BATTERY IN WORKS GREAT BUT AFTER IT SITS FOR A FEW DAYS THE BATTERY GOES DEAD. WHEN I CHECK THE CURRENT AT THE BATTERY M METER READS A DRAIN WITH NOTHING ON. ANY IDEA WHATES GOING ON ?

        maybe it melted a couple wires together somewhere. you could get a circuit tester and start checking terminals or a beeper to find a general area of any live current while the car is off. idk man never had that issue and I hope I never do!!

          For starters I would suggest not jumping off your festiva. Then check your Caps Lock button. Its stuck.
          After that, put your location up here so someone can buy your poor car for $50 and give it a new life.

          Hope that helps!

          </sarcasm>

          On a more helpful note: you've almost certainly melted a few wires together. Only way to know for sure where is to start tracing them with a multi-meter.

              Unplug alternator and see if you still have a draw. If you do, better start pulling those fuses one at a time.

                      I have seen this before on another car and it was the alternator. You are lucky you didn't have your key turn to the "on" position - Lots more items can get damaged (ignition system, brain box, radio).
