  • removing pillar plastic

    I need to pull the pillar plastic in my 94 aspire, and I really don't feel like just yanking on it and breaking all the tabs off. So can anyone tell me which way it needs to be pulled to get it out with minimal tab loss? I'm assuming the dash doesn't need pulled first.

    A pillar? If it's anything like the Festiva, I just started from the top and worked my way down.

      I stuck a flathead screrwdriver in there to help me to gently break the tabs loose.

        Ok so it just pulls straight out? I know from experience the pillars in the middle (seat belt) have a tab at the top and you pull the bottom out and it slides down. I don't want to make the same mistake twice, if it can be avoided, my driver side middle pillar will never be the same, super glue wouldn't hold the tab on..it may have needed cleaned tho.

          Not 100% sure on the Aspires, but on the stivas, the only thing holding the pillar in place are the tabs. Start at the top, and take your time.

            And go practice on JY cars first, if possible.
