    88 festiva carbed 4 speed Been getting 36 just put new vacuum lines on cleaned my egr and new o2 sensor complete tune up anything else I can do to increase mileage just fixed almost all my oil leaks now just need new drain plug washer also replaced trans mount still need to do front mount also how do u get the tach cluster out need to fix some bulbs

    duhhh...manual...forget that question

    If you mean the Tach cluster....you undo the speedo cable at the tranny...take the bezel off around the speedo....remove the 4 screws holding the speedo in and pull it forward until you can get your hand behind it and unclip the speedo cable and 2 plugs.....then pull it out and replace away.

      36 is decent for the 4 speed....driving habits would be what net you more mpg's at this point I would think.

        Also make sure your rear bearings and/or brakes aren't dragging.

          36 maybe at the limit depends a lot on the geography of your drive on a tank.
          All highway wth a single startup and shut down and < 60 MPH will give you max MPG.
          Lots of city with stop/go, stop lights, traffic, ideling and low temps will kill MPG.

          Check your tire pressure.
          I use max side wall pressure.
          The ride is harsh, but no one ever said Max MPG was going to be painless!
          Also, slow down, Max MPG is below 60 MPH, lower is better!

            yea

            Rear bearings r new tire pressure max driving 18 miles to work all backroads at 50 to55 mph have 1 stop sign in the middle of my commute usually use a little less than 5 gallons fuel gauge doesn't work anyone have a fix for that or replacement
