I gotta drive down to pick up my son from his moms in portland (about 3 miles across the bridge into ohio) ...then I am usually deterred by a pit stop at my moms house in ravenswood. At which time I'll either head to a friends house for an hour or two to give my mom some quality time, sometimes she's got stuff she wants me to do. She was hinting that she wants me to change the inner tie rod on her jaguar next time I come down, I guess those shop bills are adding up. :O they just did the outter tie rod and cabin air filter (which I told her to let me do) and they charged her over 300$ for parts and labor, and something is still grinding when you turn the wheel. Not actually looking at the car I'm guessing inner tie rod, i just gotta look when I get there.. might just be the ball joints need greased if they're servicable?

I'm getting a solid 40 mpg @ 65-70 with my aspire. But it has the Festy tranny.I know the Aerodynamics help.Plus I'm running a little taller tire than stock. It will dip down to 37 if I drive 75-80. But I have yet to see much better than 40mpg. Edit-my commute is mostly highway but I do hit a lot of stop signs once in the city. Round trip is 100 miles daily.

I've found, for me, a huge difference between 70 mph mpg's and 75 mph mpg's.
I've done several test runs myself over this past summer to get as accurate results as I can. Since every weekend I was doing the exact same drive.
This info is with my BP with stock trans. Each with a +- 1 mpg
        Average speed 65- 44mpg - 320 @ 7.2 gallons
        Average speed 70- 42mpg- 320 @ 7.5 gallons
        Average speed 75- 40mpg- 320 miles @ 8 gallons

I did each of those 3 times each and got just about the exact same results each time. I have yet to break 44 mpg but I can never bring myself to go slower than 65- traffic does not usually permit slower than 65mph.

I do not really know the main differences between b3 mpg and bp mpg, maybe the BP's tend to do better on the interstate.

        Edit:
All the data is confirmed by GPS,ODO, cross referenced with mile markers.

keeping a stiva under 65 does wonders for mileage, especially when stock. they are wound pretty tight after 65. keep the fuel system clean, have good denso oxygen sensors and a good coolant temp sensor and keep the tires at 40-44 psi. change one thing at a time between a few tanks of fuel to see what difference it makes too, i put a new ECT in my stiva and get 3mpgs worse now than with the old one. proper vehicle maintenance and good driving habits go a LONG ways. try different fuels too, E10, E30(where available), premium, or regular. mine gets the same mileage on E30 as it does on regular, and its 30 cents cheaper.

I drive to work (all highway with ~2000ft elevation gain going to work) and drive around 60mph. I constantly get 48-49 MPG.

You have to note you are running a stock trans.Which gives some advantage over a G series that might have 4.10's. But those areat numbers for sure.

I can confirm Charlie1717's numbers as well.
BP with E series tranny and FMS lowering strings cruising at 60 MPH on I70 from Wheeling, WV to STL.
                  Managed 44.5 MPG.
Have managed 44+ MPG many other times, but never broke 45 MPG.
Still think lowering the car and adding air-dam and side skirts that are closer to the ground than those currently available will pay in higher MPG, even at higher speeds.
Looking forward to Darlo's data on his boat tail.

Charlie1717, what wheels and tires are you running?

I have 14" with 165/65/14 rubber, due to rubbing of rear tires on the perch, from Miata daises off set.
Hoping to solve this issue via coilovers.

Was thinking of the air dam like Festyboy has done, as well as others, using black HDPE lawn edging.
                          Cheap and easily replaced.
Depending on how wide it is, it might also serve as the side skirts if we can find a way to attach it to the ridge that runs under the car, which also serves as the jack point front and back.

These are what we want. You use the clip as a template.Drill your hole, snap it place and voila. They are plated and incorporate a steel lock nut.So you dont have to over torque the screw which would damage/squish the plastic.Plus they last forever.

Nitro, that might do the job, not what I had in mind, but just so long as it can securely hold the side skirt material to the car it should work.
