How much oil in the tranny?

How do you fill the tranny (manual)? My shop manual doesn't show this and the haynes book has been signed out from the library. I know how to drain and fill but is there a level plug on the side of the tranny?

2.6 qts (2.5 L) on the spedo gear. take it out look at it hold down tab facing the driver side. There is a mark like |_| where _ is, is high and
| <-- bott of line is low
the page that shows this is 1-20

Thanks, I just checked my speedo gear and also found it in the shop manual. I was looking thru the shop manual for a level plug and not something like this.
