dash lights and radio wires?

I installed a jvc cd player in my festy. Put hot to hot, ground to ground, ignition to ignition, and speaker wires. Everything works great but when I turn my lights on and the dash lights come on, the cd player turns off. When I turn the lights off, cd player comes on. I can't figure it out. Any help?

maybe something is wired wrong or you need a bigger alternator/battery set up? is there an amp set up?

sounds like wiring to me though.

Ive had this problem before, I think it was the ground, try the ground on a screw somewhere instead.

R/G wire is for dash/interior illuminaton. Make sure you didn't cross it with anything and be sure it's capped off so it doesn't short out. Also, test your speaker wires for proper location with a 9volt battery. Tap the leads to the battery and you should hear a pop from the corresponding speaker.

your dash light wire will test like a ground until you turn the lights on
because there is a circuit there.
