engine swap time???

I am replacing my 93 1.3L with a 1.3L from an Aspire. I am swapping out my intake so I can use my existing computer.

I am pretty mechanical and have rebuilt my own Jeep engines before. I have a shop with a winch in the ceiling and all air tools. Just curious how long this swap should take? Any ballpark figures? Never done a festy swap before.

Depending on how much maintenance you're planning on doing, like timing belt, main seals, or clutch. 5 hours I would guess. Don't forget, you also need to swap the disty from the festy to aspire engine.

A day. It would be best to pull the engine with the tranny.

2 hours out, 1 hour of prep, 2 hours back in. That's how long it would take me, but I know where every connector, plug, and bolt is, and the fastest way to remove them. Could almost do it all with my eyes closed. For someone who has never done it before, I would suggest giving yourself 2 complete days so you are not pressed for time and don't need to rush it. When you complete it early you can feel good about yourself too.

x2 if you've rebuilt an engine this is a no brainer!

Good thing it's a '93, you should be able to use your original crank pulley. It will save you some aggravation. Give yourself 2 days in case you run into unforeseen troubles. Might replace the clutch while your at it.

nope on the belt, should be serp !!! Done this in 1.5 hrs but i push things !!
X2 on the dizzy being dif and leave the aspire manifold and buy the intake gasket that will need changed as well .

This turned into a nightmare. I ended up re-using the crank pulley. I had to swap out the intake, disty, metal antifreeze hose that crosses the engine under the exhaust manifold, exhaust manifold, wiring connectors, transmission inspection plate, etc...

I did replace the clutch pack including the pilot bearing and the throwout bearing. Most of the connnectors did not want to come apart. While I was in there I pulled out all the A/C hardware since there was a hole in the fins. That was a fair amount of weight that was removed.
