  • 88 carbie to efi

I just scored a clean 88L with the engine blown and in parts , I have a 91GL that was crashed .
How hard is it to put the efi system into the 88 ?
I want to dump the carb for sure it looks to bee in bad shape.
I will put the 5 speed in it for sure .

you will discover that there is more than meets the eye from one to the other.
Ecm and wiring, engine room wiring, fuel pump, emission system, little sensors
and switches.. It can be done but it is a lot of work. Look at the ecm connector
    or block prints and compare.
It might be easier and better to swap body parts and paint to match when done ??

it can be done over a week or weekend if your diligent but yes theres a lot involved full interior harness, swap the dashes, fuel tank and lines swapped, ecu of coarse, washer bottle for front wipers, engine bay harness and seat belts are optional but not necessary.
I have done this twice pm me if you need any specific help

Thanks guys, I will look for a carb and use the 5 speed tranny.
I have been parting from the 91GL for my DD(L+) for a while anyway.

WOW The mailman saw the new car and said he had an old Festiva that sell me for $40.00. I cant wait for him to call me when he gets off from work so I can go get it. It is the firs car I ever paid for before I saw it.
