well I couldn't find a break or cracks in the hoses. I also removed the connector and there was no corrosion. If I can't get this figured out in a week or so I may have to put it up for sale(my girlfriend hates my festy especially since it has been breaking down recently.) It's a 1992 blue festiva L its interior is beautiful and has original vinyl seats(not ripped up) just put new belts and water pump on it. I've done the aspire suspension switch excluding the sway bar. Has kia front mounts and struts. PM me for further inquiry. I'm not 100% sure if I want to sell. I would just like to see how many would be interested which may then make me decide to sell. thanks. Any more ideas would be helpful too.

I wouldn't get rid of it. I have had problems with mine and I just kept at them. Take gauge up on his offer to look at it for you. Someone will help you out to get it fixed. You will regret getting rid of it.

Do post # 10. The results tend to be kind of vague but might point you in the right direction. It's the first thing the new owner will do.

I plan on getting it fixed before I sell it but i'm going to sell it. I have some new symptoms. They are as follows: When driving it won't die, however, when at an idle it will. When I have to stop if I run it at 2100 to 2500 rpm it won't die. If I let it go below that it usually will though, however, sometimes it will idle perfectly fine. Thanks.

You had the engine still running and the CEL on?? Pull the code!!
Listen to your car, it has a message for you. Your CEL will blink
a code it logged while your car was acting up. Type the car and code
into the internet or ask us and that is where your problem will be.

If its code 17 tell your car to deal another hand..

Rule 6. Post in the proper forum. The General Discussion forum is NOT a catch-all forum. If you need repair help, post in the Repair Help forum. Video in Multimedia forum, etc...

Found out today that the problem is with the VAF. is this a hard fix? Is there any sort of makeshift way to fix this for the time being until the part comes?

I'm pretty sure I have a spare one in Columbus. I'll be home Monday. You can have it.

Well the VAF may or may not have been the problem. Installed it last night and it seems to have kinda fixed it. Engine light now rarely comes on. The VAF was from a car that hadn't run in a while. Is there a small break-in time for everything to get working fine again? If the VAF isn't the problem the next link in the chain is something distributor related and then after that it is the VAT computer.

Do you have to reset the system to make the engine light go off?

the engine light just doesn't come on anymore. Should I reset the system anyway?
