  • New development with the b6

Ok the b6 is running good but today I heard a tick that sounds like hla tick only it seems a bit louder my question is could my performance cam cause something like this or is this just a typical hla noise and if so what should I do to fix it I pulled the valve cover and pushed down on the rocker arms and they all seemed ok so is there anything I can do aside from replacing the hlas

No it doesn't sound like a sewing machine its a tap coming from the valve cover right behind the cam gear it doesn't sound like the typical valve noise that the festys normally have any ideas ?

When you checked for loose or soft rockerarms/HLA's, did you make sure each rocker was down on the base circle of the cam?

Ok I figured out what the noise was. It was the timing tensioner coming apart and it was new plus it started eating the timing belt new belt new tensioner and all is well thanks for the help
