swap help needed fi to carb

can I put a fi engine in a carbed festy if I swap out the intake? I don't want to replace the tank/pump

I have a good 94 fi engine - the 89 carby needs rings/valve job. (rebuilt)
smokes worse than burning wet leaves but runs very well anyway.

Yes you can, but you will need the wiring harnees and ecu for the efi, and use aftermarket elec. pump to not change tank.
...wait, I think you mean to just use the 94 block with the 88 intake, right? Then that is yes as well, they are the same block.
Just swap them and put back in car.

YES, to answer your question. You can bolt the carby intake and alternator on and set it in. Just remember the Aspire engine will have serpentine belts so you will either need a set of big nose v-belt pulley's off a 93 Festiva to convert it to v-belts. Or you will need a plug to convert the carb harness to fit the late alternator connection and you will lose the choke power for the electric choke since it is powered from the alternator on a carby. The plate on the back of the head can be removed to install the mechanical fuel pump. They are just a later version of the B3, the blocks are almost identical so it just bolts in.
