Still trying to work the bugs out of my 92 festy. There is a vaccume port plugged off in the intake. Looking down from the front of the cat the port is on the right side of the intake on the part nearest the firewall about 7 inches or down. Is this something that needs to be hooked up. I have a rough idle and seems like the longer it idles the worse it gets. IT idles fine on first start up of the morning just wondering if this plugged of part may have something to do with it. Great site by the way lots of helpful info.

Maybe it's a manifold off of a automatic that has an extra vac port for the trans.

Sounds like a vaccum leak issue, that capped line could be for the auto, not sure. Spray lines and manifolds and intake tube with someithng like WD-40 and listen for a change in idle.

From your description I will say probably yes that line that is capped off is to goto an automatic trans that the car probably had at some point. If you can snap a picture of it to post I can verify for you.
