    Moved to the proper section

    1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
    1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

      Need more info:

      FI or carbed?

Any other work done to it?

      Any other problems?

What have you looked at already?

More detail. Does it cut off when you push the acclerator or just cuts off on its own? Etc.

Was it like that when you got it or was it running okay until this issue?

Look at the rubber fuel line that goes INTO the fuel filter, at the bottom of the firewall on the drivers side. There is a metal fuel line that runs under the body of the car, from the tank. The rubber fuel line (about 4 inches long) that connects the metal line to the fuel filter, has to make a sharp turn to reach the fuel filter, and since the mechanical fuel pump on a carbed car, mounted on the engine block, pulls fuel through the fuel line, it creats a vacuum on the fuel line. With age the rubber fuel line gets soft, and can collapse from this vacuum, shutting off fuel to the filter and the fuel pump.
It happened to me, and a few others here. It will just shutoff. Later it will run after the vacuum bleeds off, and then while driving it will shut off again. Look for that rubber fuel line and see if it has a sort of kink in it, where it bends up to reach the filter. I replaced mine with new fuel line, about a foot long.
              Hope this helps.
