  • dim warning lights on, car off?:help:

I have an 89 festi and when i shut the hot rod off, my oil light comes on very faintly and when i set my e brake, it does the same. i'm wondering why and if it may have anything to do with battery dying after 2 days of sitting? anyone have ideas?:help:

I'm only a year into festy. I haven't looked close enough at the wiring to know. But I believe the wiring are the same on the back of the dash. Possibly in the fuse box also.

Check all fuses and grounds. Most likely a corroded ground causing an open loop battery drain on your system. You can check for a parasitic load by using a tester. Hook up positive terminal unhook negative terminal, put the tester on amps and hook between the negative cable to the car and the negative side of the battery. If there is a draw you will see it.

Unhook all the wires from the alternator and re-try it.

i did do all that except i only unhooked the main wire from the alternator and got a draw even with the fuses al out... i'll try unhooking the harness from the alt also. i might just have to live with it. thanks, also, what everyones favorite place to get parts for these little rockets?

The bigger of the two little plugs is the one I really was directing you to.

Parts totally depends on what part..metal is metal so pick and pull works well.
Reman, you want best quality, best warranty and parts store crew in your area.

New chinese and rebuilt domestic at the same store?? I would go with domestic
parts. Oreilly's is hard to beat for small towns.
