  • stripped threads where wheel bolt goes

One of the holes where my wheel bolts go has stripped threads.

It looks like this piece is attached to the rotor.

What is this thing called? I would like to order a new one.

    Thanks in advance,

    adam

It's called the hub. i don't think you'll be able to buy a new one. Check the junkyards or post in the for sale/wanted forum for one.

it is called a Wheel Hub or Bearing Hub

it is a hard part to replace
meaning that you must replace the bearings and seal
and must be done with an hydraulic press

Maybe look for a complete spindle assembly. That is easier to change than just the hub.

          Thanks for the replies.

I am a solid axle 4x4 person and that thing did not look like any spindle/hub assembly I had ever seen before. Then again, I had never seen wheel bolts either.

I take it that this is not an available aftermarket part (figures!)

Or you could just drill it out, put a helicoil in it then convert it to studs and wheel nuts while your at it

Sounds like a good reason to do an Aspire suspension and brake swap.

But then, any reason will do!
