  • Didn't have knock sensor plugged in.

I was just pulling my motor today and noticed that the knock sensor was not hooked up to the harness. What ill effects could this have caused?

Maybe it's why motor is about dead.

knock box retards timing when it senses pre-det. pre-det WILL damage rings and valves if left unchecked.

Are we talking about the black box?

^^without the knock box, it wouldn't run, I'm sure he's talking about the knock sensor on the back of the block beside the oil pressure sensor

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

Yah I was talking about the sensor. The box was plugged in. Does anyone know how much timing the box will pull? I think I read that it will only pull one degree. How much correcting can the box acually do?

With the n/a block and tbird turbo im worried about too much boost and higher compression.

I shall see what happened to my motor when Im done swapping engines.
