if i buy one which one,will my mpg's still be good and car reliable as daily driver.with this setup can i remove all emission stuff oh my car is a 1989 festiva 4speed 1.3 b3. i'm so tired of messing with the feedback carb it is new but i'm not for sure if i got vacuum lines hooked up correctly and i drive at least 100miles a day mon-fri and my 97 ford ranger splash with 4.0 is eating all my money so got this car to be my daily and have not been able to get it to run correctly please help

weber carb help
if u get a weber , u still have to know,what emission lines,to plug up. instead of a new weber,u could get a new stock carb,and have a garage,install it,and hook,up lines. webers arent known,for excellent gas milege,especially in cold weather.ive used webers,on different cars,a lot. i use a manual choke. a weber will give xtra performance,not better gas milege. the festy,is best kept stock,for reliabilty,and good gas milege. if u ,go with a weber,the most common one ,is the 32/36 dgv. the 34/34 is nice,for the smaller engines. the festy, is not a good candidate,to soup up,in my opinion. but opinions vary.best of luck.

At least with a weber it is a whole heck of alot easier to diagnose in the case of a problem. Also Windy note in the OP that he has already bought a new Feedback. Also if where ever this guy is from is like up here nobody works on them.Mike Holmgren

Personally, I prefer no vacuum delay and instant throttle response from my cars. I like to tap the gas pedal and feel the tug on my neck muscles. It is also nice to have power in reserve. How much gas you burn will ultimately depend on your driving habits and how heavy your right foot is. I always tune rich, by opening the needle until it runs rough and then turn it back in until the idle smooths out. If you are out for mileage then tune it for a lean idle. i've got a friend (and member here) who is running a B6ME and 32/36 and he gets ~38mpg highway and that's with a 4 speed and he's not easy on it.
the webers can be as economical as the factory carbs if tuned properly.Trees aren't kind to me...
currently: 2 88Ls (Scrappy and Jersey), 88LX, 90L(Pepe), 91L, 91GL (Skippy) 93 GL Sport (the Mighty Favakk), 94 (Bruce) & 95 Aspire SEs, 97 Aspire (The Joker),
94 Justy 4WD, 87 Fiero GT, plus 2 parts cars. That's my fleet.

i'm in morristown tn and have been on here since feb of this year since i bought the car.have tried since then to use this site because this is the only place that i have found anything out about the festiva.i'm a ford guy but have stuck with the foxbody mustangs and ford trucks but i drive over 100miles per day mon-fri and was using a crx for daily but have decided to go back to ford/mazda thats always been the best i've had but this festiva is really been a headache most of the time i can do about anything to a car but all those vacuum lines is a mess.

All fuel mgmnt systems get poorer mileage in colder air
You can get same fuel ecomomy plus more performance from a Weber.Even better mileage/performance cuz we can lean them out with JETTING.Not very feasable with a Feedcrap Carb.
And your opinion of "Souping Up" a Festy.Doesnt hold much soup,considering how many of us Modify our Festy for Performance.
Not to mention,if you want top end HP. A Weber'd Festy is gonna pull a stock efi.Some people like to read fiction,I prefer to read repair manuals. Weird I know-

+1. I've used Webers on various cars. Gas mileage always improved with the Weber compared to the stock carb; so did HP. Getting a new stock carb is only a good option if you have no other--due to emissions inspections.

hey i bought the stock carb before i knew about a feedback carb.as for souping up a festiva i never said anything like that i stated that i bought this car to take the place of my 91crx-si nfor the mpg's,not saying that with a swap this little cars wont run,they should with the weight to hp ratio but if i want to go fast i'll hope in the 5.0 and that's how i roll.just looking to save gas with the festiva but can not do that with it not runnin right that being said this car has grown on me when i first got it i thought it was an ugly car but now i really like it and can not wait to start driving it.then tinting it,painting,thinking of redoing the interior black and buying black carpet it's brown stock but the hole car is really mint.just want it to runn correct.i would pay someone to come over and help me get it runnin correctly and go off there car to get vacuum lines correct,been thinking of taking it to a shop and seeing if they still can work on it
