PROBLEM help

yeah i have a 92 festiva and i have this fuel problem every time it gets down to or past half a tank it starts cuting out and barly runs i have replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, drained the tank, so i dont know what it is can anyone help me out

Is it really at a half tank ,not going by the gauge,
Mine will act funny when I get close to 1/4 ,I think the sender is off a little . it sys 1/4 but it is closer to M/T
When I accel hard then the gas sloshes around and it gets a gulp of air and jerks a little till it picks up the gas again

yeah thats what mine does just gets so bad it wont go anywhere i have took the pump out and looked in there to c how much gas is in there and there is still a bit in there

The pickup is close to the bottom of the tank right ,
just keep the gas above half :lol:

you may need to replace the fuel pump and/or all of the rubber fuel hoses in the tank.

when the fuel level hits a certain point in your tank, the fuel pump starts to suck air, causing your problems

I replaced my pump also ^^,but I never saw any rubber hoses in the tank ,only the ones on top that go to it, and where it connects to the pump (isolator)
I don't know where it would suck air unless the pump has came loose in the bracket at the isolator and or the sock came loose .
If the one that is connected to the pump was a problem it would lose pressure all the time wouldnt it . When my O-ring came out on the pump I lost all pressure and it would not even run ,all the fuel was spraying in the tank.
It is 02:30 am and maybe I am not thinking straight

or, is the the fuel pump in the right place in the fuel tank?
as : measure the tank depth from the top, then measure the fuel pump assembly insertion depth, to make sure the sock is really on the bottom

I have 4 festivas 2 run out of gas at 1/4 tank. I think it is the sending units or leak at top of strainer on pump?
Just guessing but that seems like all it could be.
