MAF replacement/substitute?

1995 Aspire 4dr 1.3L manual.

I have a code 8 & I checked the signal coming from the MAF to confirm its bad. Parts store refurb units are $200!
Is there a cheaper or used source from a different car that would work? even if that requires modifying/adapting the setup.

I suppose I'll start with junk yards for the stocker.... or a suitable substitue if there is such a thing.

Did you try cleaning it yet?

Spray the little wire inside with ELECTRICAL CONTACT CLEANER.

Do not touch it. No q-tips. No rubbing alcohol, windex, carb cleaner, brake cleaner, etc.

Use ELECTRICAL CONTACT CLEANER!

You can get it at most auto part stores for about $4.
