cooling fan wiring

1992 gl A/C five speed

I put a new cooling fan motor on today. The two wire leads are orange and black. On the new motor it says "orange ". My question is, should the orange wire connect with the yellow wire or with the yellow wire with the red strip in the wire harness? I hooked it up orange to yellow and black to yellow with red stripe. Fan did come on after car warmed up.

which way does the fan turn???

it is supposed to blow onto the motor, sucking through the radiator

Its pulling air through the Rad blowing toward the engine. Would the motor turn backwards if hooked up wrong or just not work ?

It will turn backwards if the wires are reversed.
