  • Trans question???

My transmission recently went out on me and i was wondering what trannys would bolt up to my B3 without any problems? Btw it's stuck in 2nd, it feels like theres nothing there....i can move the knob all the way around in a circle lol

Sounds like your gearshift lever dropped down. There is information in this forum on that problem if you search on it. Try pulling it upward and seeing if you are able to shift. Also, the bushings could be worn out causing some slop, but that should not be enough to make it "un-shiftable" Good Luck.

I've heard of that problem too but thats not the issue, 5th gear was going out anyways so i'd just like to swap trannys.

with absolutely zero problems? Only the Festiva trans. The Aspire trans requires the Aspire mount, and everything that bolts to the engine will require different axles and custom mounts.

Will the aspire mount directly bolt on to the festy?

yes, if you grab the bracket that is bolted to the aspire case. The front one.

Your tranny maybe fixable. The 3 screws that hold the shifter rod (inside the trans.) has come loose or stripped out. This (failure) allows the Shifter rod arm's Ball end to pop out.
Recommend Heli-coiling all 3 screw holes. Make sure these bolts are really tight before closing up the trans.
