  • clutch does not engage

So I was being dumb trying to get my tires to chirp... I revved the car up to 3k and dumped the clutch. Right after letting off the clutch, the car just revved up as if the clutch was disengaged. I can put the car in gear without pushing the clutch in and it doesn't give the slightest hint of clutch engagement. I checked the clutch cable to make sure nothing happened but it is working as intended. There was no clunking, bucking or any kind of breaking sounds from the transmission and no burnt clutch smell. I am assuming I am going to have to replace the clutch but before I spend $120 on a clutch kit, I wanted to get some feedback / confirmation from you guys.

    Thanks,

More likely the trans or diff. Don't buy anything until you investigate.

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

With a stethoscope you should hear the gears in the transmission turning with the
clutch out and it should be quiet when you push it in. At least it may give you an
idea if you broke the input shaft or tore the hub out of the disk. I believe inputs
        are pretty tough.

i doubt that you broke the trans with a B3, its possible but ive been VERY hard on a B3/E with no broken parts. id say either broken disk/pressure plate or the axle as suggested.
