Radio Wiring

When I bought my Festiva it didn't have a radio in it.
About last week, my Dad and I put a new radio in and even though we had some issues (previous owner had some stuff hooked up wrong) we got everything working, including memory etc. However, I just found out a couple days ago that if I turn my lights on, it turns off the radio AND deletes all the memory. Also, I can't turn it back on when the lights are on.

Does anybody have any idea as to what wire it could be or possibly something else?

You probably hooked the wrong wire up to the radio for lighting, and when you turn on your lights its shorting the radio and shutting it down. Look for the auxiliary lighting wire
