MTX seals Q

I am in process of putting axle seals in the MTX I have (e-series 5 spd)
I was looking at the input shaft and wondering about that shaft seal.
Looks like the case has to be opened to get to the shaft seal? Is it even necessary? I mean are the shaft seals prone to leaking, or do they hold up a long time?
I ask as I am not finding the replacement seals readily available.

Hokay. I found this thread about the above subject. Took a few search tries before I found it.
Yes, I will have to pull the tranny case apart to get to the "internal" seal.

Problem is, I dont know if it leaks or not, 'cause I bought it off CL, and havent run it yet.

I would like to replace it now, before it goes in the car, and find out then, that it leaks. :eeeeeek:

Case has to be open, and the gearsets need pulled, if you go that far you might as well replace the shift shaft seal too, its under the diff and shift gate, but that's just a couple more bolts past the gearset.

Anyone have a diagram of the MTX 5 spd, or know where I can download one?

I thought I saw one here, but I cant seem to find it.
