  • 91 Festiva emergency brake cable

Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement emergency brake cable part. I don't need the whole thing, just the cable that goes from about the center of the rear axle to the passenger side brake?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Look in your mcparts store "help!" Section for a brake cable kit. It comes with enough cable for either side and cable stops for ~$10.

"McParts" is a general reference to the chain auto parts stores. I.E. Autozone (autozoo), O Reilly's (Oh, really), Advance Auto, Pep Boys, etc.

Unfortunately aside from universal parts that will require modifications to make work, this cable is only sold as a complete unit. I got mine from fourgreen (for a four-door kia pride) and it was a couple inches longer but nothing a slight change in routing didn't fix.

Also make sure the linkage at the backing plates aren't frozen.

I know I fixed the broken part of my ebrake cable using some galvanized steel cable from home depot and line clamps. I made sure to grease the hell out of all the friction points after.

My Ebrake was gone at the rear axel along with the brake adjuster's.

Found a festy in the junk yard that had all that intacked so I got the whole ebrake out of the junked one, greased it up, and put it in mine along with the brake adjester's.

you can also get cable and fittings to make your own from motorcycle shops. might even think about running the cable through a plastic cable cover while you're at it.

Just use stainless cable and forget about the plastic sheathing. If they did this from the factory, nobody would ever buy another parking brake cable again.
