Ok so i got my BP engine today and the PO said that it hasnt ran since a timing belt broke and stated "Breaking the belt bent the valves" but as we know the BP in non-interfearance so this isnt the problem. Therefore im guessing he re-installed the tb wrong so im just wondering if there is a way to check this quickly to be sure. I plan on rebuilding the engine anyways so ill have to figure it out at one point or another.

It may not be quick.. but set the crank to TDC and then look at the cam markers. They should all line up. On #1 Cyl both valves should be closed and piston #1 will be at its highest point. -
And the rotor on the distributor will point to the #1 spark plug which easer to check.Original owner of silver grey carburetted 1989 Festiva. 105k km as of June 2006. 140k km as of June 2021.Comment
