  • DRLs

I've seen a couple threads on putting daytime running lights into festys. I can easily just rig something up when I go back to canada to get a safety, but if I could use stock festy stuff that would be way better/easier.

Does anyone know if the stock DRL plug was left in the US festy? I mean they seem to have just put everything in all of them.. There are a bunch of plugs by the driver side firewall, none of which are plugged in, could one be the DRL plug? Its a 1990.

Anyone have a pic of the actual male/female connector?

I'd be willing to bet all the DRL wiring is in all festiva's, just need the relays and module

    1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
    1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

My aspire was missing the drl resistor socket on the firewall that's supposed to be between the A/C relay and solenoids/brake fluid lvl switch, and the wires/sockets were missing for it behind the ecu where the relay is. It did have wires ran for the fog lights tho, just no relay or fuse...or switch.

What if you used a sensor like GM has that knows when it's daytime, and just run the lights off the accessory switch?

Ill do some investigating tomorrow. But I would do something like that for fun, but the DRLs are just so I can safety the car in Ontario in august and import it.

The less wire splicing I have to do in the festy the better.

So i have several empty plugs on the driver side firewall, 2 - 1 prong, 2 - 2 prong, and a 6 - prong with only 3 wires inside the plug. Hopefully one is DRL plug, anyone have a pic yet? haha
