  • Difficulty of a 5 speed swap

First off, this is my first post here.

I'm looking for a Festiva or Aspire (I'm partial to Fords) as a daily driver. I have the opportunity to but an automatic festiva that is in good condition, only I want a 5 speed. How difficult is this swap in one of these cars? Is it worth the effort or should I keep looking for a 5 speed car (I can't seem to find one in the area)?
1986 Comp Prep SVO Mustang(1 of 83) Four cylinder turbo! (Think first Fox body "R" model!)
1995 F-150 Extra Cab and it was free!
    1991 Festiva L, Surf Blue with A/C
1995 Jeep Cherokee 2wd 5 speed 4.0 and it was free!
1993 Aqua Festiva and it was cheap!
1994 Brake Swap and it was cheap!
1969 Ford F100 Big Block Ranger and it was free! (coming 2/12)

I'd keep looking. You would need to find an 5 speed parts car. If you have access to a junkyard with festivas and are able to do the task then give it a try.

You'll need the tranny, pedals, clutch cable, flywheel, both half shafts, shifter, starter. I may have missed a few things.
