  • Oil cap thread size?

Does anyone know the thread size of the Festiva oil cap?

I bought 2 oil caps for my B6, the add said fits Mazda. I didnt look at the years and they are for 2005 Mazdas. Dont fit my VC. Duh-uh on my part

Anyway, the caps I got are way cool, and I can turn the right size threads onto the caps, but I dont know the thread size.

Should be the same thread that's in the valve cover.........

LOL, seriously, I remember looking for a replacement filler cap for the gas tank on my
lawn mower. I had no idea there were soo many different threads for such things.

Don't think it's any established size.

        I'm clueless on this one.

I'll check back to see if anyone has suggestions.

I just went to the Mazda parts department at my local dealership and bought a Mazdaspeed aluminum cap.

I forget. It was in the display case for a very long time and they gave it to me for cheap, just to get rid of it.

I went online for a Miata billet aluminum cap and they are asking $45

The center piece can be removed and replaced with any lathe turned aluminum cap.
You could even have the Festiva logo anodized onto it.

There is a set screw so that the center piece can be locked after orienting the logo.

Hmmmm....scroll down this page if ya wanna see some COOL oil caps!

                http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=...=100&_osacat=0

Seems this is like the last thing people think about...but not me!

I love a nice looking cap, kinda sets off the engine, having something besides a black plastic cap. I just put a lot of work into my swap, painting it and making it all pretty and stuff, so I am looking for "THE" cap to set it off.
I found a couple that do it, but are not available with the right threads.

I bought these . They have a "twist lock" , not threads. The silver looked BEAUTIFUL on the black wrinkle painted vc. (add says chrome but is not - is anodized silver)

This one has threads, but are a way bigger diameter thread. I like this one and can mod this one to fit. It is real chrome and is the only chrome one of this style I have ever seen. Most are anodized silver, red, blue, etc... not chrome. Only $10! Looks good with the "sickspeed" emblem on it.

I "think" the threads are 36mm X 4mm pitch. Looking into it.
