hard starting festiva 93

purchased a 93 festiva that was sitting for three years. change the fuel pump, put in new gas, cleaned the injectors, changed afm, plugs, but still have to crank the engine for several minutes before car will start. won't idle but above idle car runs good.

what should I try next?

Change fuel filter. Check wires, cap, rotor.

I just got a festiva that was sitting for a while. It idled bad. Turned out the fusible links were so corroded that they were barely contacting anymore. It left me stranded one time so I wiggled the links and one broke off. I've since removed the fuse links and replaced with a new fuse box and it idles much better.

like said before check roter and cap or replace them. i checked the bottom of my cap and did not see any cracks but when replacing it the coil wire end stayed in it and after ten minutes of prying it finally came out and it was green with corrosion. i felt kind of stupid after that because it sat for 2 weeks with a minor problem like that and all i had to do was to replace cap and roter and it runs like new now.
