  • Almost in perfect mechanical shape !

Hi all, nothing is really wrong with my 91 festy but it's so close to perfect mechanical shape that i want to fix it's minor issues.

It has a small idle bounce. usually fluctuates from 700 - 800 rpm. the power is still good and everything else about the drivetrain seems great though.

I have the common exhaust rattle but i'm unsure where it's coming from. some festy owners say it's coming from their cat converter but after inspecting mine i noticed that the heat shield that covers the lower exhaust mani and down pipe isn't bolted to anything and can be moved around freely. the rattle only happens when i take off in 1st ( usually when i bog it a little ) and sometimes when i bog it in 2nd.

The exhaust rattle...hit it if it rattles fix it!
a rubber hammer is a pretty cool tool..

Idle irregularity. You need to know if it is a cylinder for any reason
    or electronic / computer.

One at a time remove an injector plug or ignition cable and ground
it then run the car to see if the bounce is still there only at a lower
    rpm...but steady.
