  • Auto Aspire Tranny Into An Auto Festiva?

I searched, but could not find what I was looking for. Here is a what I have. A 93 automatic Festy (bad tranny) and a wrecked 94 Aspire (good tranny). Can someone tell me everything I will need to put the Aspire tranny into the Festiva? I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

I plan to put an Aspire ATX in my '93GL ATX Festiva. The theory is you will have to use the Festiva ATX mounts on the Aspire ATX to put it in the Festiva.

The problem is I haven't done this yet, so I don't know for sure.

They should be the same, except the Aspire ATX has a lower final drive and a lockup torque converter.

Thanks for the info. So I need to use the mounts from the Festiva ATX. You mentioned that the Aspire ATX has a lower final drive and a lockup torque converter. How will this affect the Festiva when it is done? Anything else I may need to consider before attempting this? Thanks.

The Aspire ATX will also have a different speedo gearing which is set for the 165/70-13 tire sizing. Since those are the ones I have on my Aspire alloys, it will bring me back to an accurate speedo measurement (as "accurate" as they can be, that is).

The lower final drive will give you a bit better acceleration from a stop, but increase your engine revs which might adversely affect fuel economy. The lockup TC (it locks up only in 3rd gear) should help get back some of that loss in freeway driving.
