  • EFE Heater

Hi i'm new to the Festiva world, I recently acquired an 88 LX (carbed,5speed) for the low low price of free! I had to put a new tranny in it and everything has been going fine except I am replacing all the vacuum lines and carb gaskets and my efe heater has a crack in it, can I just leave it off or will it hurt anything? btw I live in NC so winters aren't that cold. Thanks for any help.

If by "EFE Heater" you mean the warm air tube for winter starts/running ... you'll probably never miss it in NC.

According to the manual, the efe heater is this plastic plate under the carb with 2 wires running to it, mine's cracked and all the info I find on it says it's for cold start emissions and driveability. I would replace it if I could find someone who carries it lol,i'm finding that Ford has pretty much given up on Festivas. That shouldn't surprise me cause they've given up on 2nd gen Escorts even tho they were made up to 96. Good news is Mazda still cares lol.
