  • 91GL Still no spark

I have a 91GL automatic FI car. I bought it with no spark and it still has no spark. The coil and ignitor are both good and work fine on my daily driver. Same with the Dist. And computer. All the fuse able links are good and clean as well as all the fuses. Ive started opening up the wire harnesses trying to find a burnt or bad wire with no luck. I need to get this car running soon or I will have to part it out. Anyone have an idea??

I am about to replace the harness. Ive checked all the grounds and tested all the grounds listed on the wiring diagrams. How hard is it to replace the engine harness?

Last night after work I got the dash pulled out of it to get a better look at things and see if I can figure out where I'm loosing the pulse signal from my distributor. Today I will start checking and bypassing wires to see if I can locate the problem

I went through the EVTM for my car yesterday and everything tests out fine except for the self test circuit that controls the check engine light Everything else tested good. I have power at the Dist, coil, and module. I have good grounds as well but still no spark at all. I tested every ignition component on my daily driver and that car runs fine with them. I'm at a total loss and ready to part it out

Paul I have to say you have got a lemon on your hands there
I have lost so much sleep thinking of your no start situation
I have never seen a Festiva with such an attitude
This has to be a once in a lifetime issue with Festiva, I never thought it would result to this .

is there any other aftermarket systems installed?
              like alarm or stereo?

              checked the power relay?

There are no alarms or after market anything in the car. As of right now I have the dash pulled out so I can get a better look at what I'm working with. The main relay has power and is good Ive even tried swapping it with the one in my daily driver. I have never worked on a car with such an odd problem. Going by the manuals I should have had this car running months ago!!!

and you are using a DVOM instead of a test light, right?

the light will tell power , but not how much voltage

Yes I am using a meter not a est light and so far everything tested okay the ECU, the fuse able links, the main relay also at the Dist, coil and ignition module. That's why this is so confusing to me. I just don't get it.
