Distributor cap

So it just came to my attention that although female on female may be appropriate sometimes, it is not the case for the distributor cap, a male end does exist.

Everywhere i look has only Female ends on the distributor cap. Every wire has female ends. Where can i get a distributor cap with male ends.

I think you are mistaking the "male" side of the plug wire, to cap, as "female".
It is actually a "male" end, hiding under a skirt, awaiting to pounce on the "female".

if your wires are not pushed all the way into the boot then I could see where you would think it is female....but they are not. Push them all the way through if they are not and then the metal tip will snap into the distributor.

Do you mean caps like the late 80's early 90's ford v engines had ?
they looked like the top of a spark plug and if you were not paying
attention you could swap ends on a plug wire?

It can be hard to push the boot up the ignition wire. I spray with WD-40 to make is slide easier. I also sometimes crimp the end of the wire with pliers to make a tigher fit.
