  • Attempting the Escort Center Console Install

I need some help here. It would appear the center console is a bit wider than the original plastic trim that went around the e-brake so both my seat belts are going inside the Escort trim when I lay it down. How were people installing this? Squeezing the trim on the inside? Cutting holes out for the seat belts? I'm gonna go take another look and see if I can't come up with something.

I'll try to put something together...it's definitely way to wide to just squeeze it down between the belts. Thinking the best bet might be trying to fuse the old one with the new one some how. Would require some fiberglass work probably. I'll give it a good look Hopefully this weekend or some time next week.

Does anyone have any pics of it installed? I know I've seen some, but I don't know where.

Search, there is an artical that shows how to cutout the sides so seatbelts work. Just do a little search! I found it when I did mine.

Too much trouble for me. I just installed a Kia Pride cubby because it is a direct fit. Good luck with your install.

The Festiva is a very narrow car and there is not much room in between the seats. My concern was only for the shifter. When I installed different seats, I offset the mounts away from the center. They had integral seat belt buckles.
