I have a question! When I my steering wheel locks, after I remove the key, it is slightly to the right. Should it lock in the straight(center) position or in a random position. The wheels are aligned properly, but drives with the steering wheel slightly to the right. It tracks straight. I believe the PO moved the wheel to adjust to his alignment. I can adjust the tie rods to center the wheel, but if he had moved it, I want to bring it back to center. Thanks in advance for your expertise!!

if it is straight down the road...do not mess with the tie rod adjustment. Make sure that your wheels are straight....remove the steering wheel and try and center it. If you can not find the spot that puts it straight...then it was never centered when it was aligned and you would have to have it redone just to fix the little offset of the steering wheel."FLTG4LIFE" @FINALLEVEL , "PBH"

Look at the angle of the steering wheel at full lock compared to the other side. If there is a diff, some doofus moved it on the splines. It should be centered preferably by removing rack bellows and measuring inner tie rod end to end of rack on both sides then steering wheel can be properly centered. Then do alignment.
