I sold a 92 five-speed fuel injected festiva to a man. He loves it. He's gotten as much as 48 mpg. It had 230,xxx miles on it when I sold it to him. Occasionally when he's driving it it will act like it's starving for fuel. He can pump the gas pedal like mad and it will come back to life. I did a full tune up on it when I had it. He bought a remanufactured MAF from Mexico. This did not fix his problem. What else can he try?

It could possibly be the fuel pump. It may be intermittently sticking. I had one lock up completely after the car sat for a year unused. I removed it and hooked voltage to it, one tap with a wrench freed it up. I put it back in until I got a new one. It worked and never missed a beat so I ended up leaving it in.Last edited by David88; 09-17-2012, 06:36 PM.'89L 110k mi. BP/G swapped
