  • Help! Need VIN cut keys!

I had ONE key to a recently acquired Aspire, and I lost the key. I called Ford, but Ford says "durrrr, a hwat?" Is there any place that will make replacement keys for older Fords based on the VIN, or maybe have uncut Ford blanks that I can maybe have a locksmith cut? Has anyone had any success with a locksmith's attempts at key cutting by code?

Worst comes to worst, I can pull the steering column and/or just the ignition switch on my 94 parts car, only one key but you could get copies of that.

Call a locksmith. My guy can cut one for any car, and he will give me 2 copies next day for like $30!

I agree to find a good locksmith. When I bought my car it only had one key that was a well worn copy. The locksmith made copy of it that was even better than the original i gave him. Took him a couple tries, and only charged me for the final ones. Whenever I go to him I feel like I'm not paying him enough for his work. He also said that if i pulled the lock out of the door he could make an exact key, so I imagine another locksmith could do the same.

if you got AAA or a friend with it have them call and say they were driving it and lost the key....bam free key. They should be able to cut one with the cut code on the lock cylinder.

Now that I remember I don't think the guy could remove the cylinder lol so he had to kinda practice making they key till he got it right, lol. But each cylinder does have a code for the key cuts as far as I know.
