  • Shifter stabilizer bar bushing

Atleast thats what I think its called. Its the rod coming from the shifter mount and mounts to the side of the transmission. Well anyway I need the bushing for where it mounts to the transmission. Can't find anything at local parts houses or Rockauto..

    Any help?

    Tanks

If I'm thinking about the same thing your talking about, I bought 6 for my capri last year and had two left over that I just put on my Festiva. The part number I have is ATM 0771303 and I bought them through the local NAPA. Two should fit where your talking about, and if it's like my Capri, two more will fit at the other end where the shifter connects to the rod.

From Mazda: Bushing-GJ2146041, & pipe that goes inside it-B09246047. Those are the parts #s.
If it don't fit, use a bigger hammer!

Thanks for the info, I have already purchased the bushings sactnato mentioned and I've been looking for the shifter stabilizer bushing before I build a short shifter.

Yep, its the one I said. This IS the one for the stableizer bar, its longer than the ones for the shfter & has a metal tube or pipe as Mazda cals it , that goes in the hole.

Buy some poly sway bar endlinks and use the metal sleave from the old one, take two of the new poly bushings, drill out the center just a hair smaller than the sleave. Sand down the outside just a hair larger than the tube at the end of the shifter rod. Hammer the sleave into the bushings, then hammer the pair into the tube, use a larger washer and install it. The bushing should get fully I.stalled as you tieghten it down. This will make a huge improvement on shifting feel. You can actually feel it click into neutral, then into gear.

Most parts stores have the energy suspension pack in stock. Generally around $20 for an 8 pack.
