  • Fast idle when warm. Carbed '89

Anyone ever have the idle go way to fast when the engine (carbed) is warmed up? mine starts fine and idles normal for warming up. When its warmed up for a few minutes its idling about 2500 to 3000 RPM. Wont slow down at all. Tried to force the throttle linkage closed at the carb and the computer forces it open against your push. Thoughts? Car sat for 2 years not running.
    Thanks

Thanks, I checked the Haynes manual troubleshooter section and it didn't offer anything for high idle. I try that.

I was wondering, does the cooling fan cycle on and off? If the fan works OK it seems like the cooling sensor works properly. Wonder if it might be the O2 sensor?? Just Wondering!!

            The coolant fan cycles normally.
